It's a Baby! // Pensacola, FL Photographer Jessica Salort

I have to admit keeping this secret was like the most amazing and super duper coolest thing I have done in a long time! It’s funny how things come back around full circle. I first met this family when I helped Rachel get ready for her wedding several years ago. We later found out that she had mutual friends of mine and that I kinda knew her in-laws.

When Rachel came to me to help plan her baby announcement it was so surreal. I was being put in charge of capturing the moment she would tell the world about her sweet bundle. My heart was seriously filled.

In the initial plans the little furry baby of the family Charley was always included. We knew she would be a wildcard and we would have to play by her rules. For the record I ALWAYS welcome the furry ones. Don't ever be afraid of me saying no to your bringing your babies to any of my sessions unless the location prohibits it.

We planned the session the week before it took place only to cancel it because of the rainy weather. So in true Florida nature our rescheduled date was also threatened by the rain again. I raced to the downtown park I had schedule the session in hoping the sun would stay a little longer than it was predicted to stay. And with perfect timing it did.

As we began our session everyone got into place to create magic when a dog across the street also named Charley ran away from his owner sending our Charley into a frenzy. What a way to start a session with a little furry friend fun!

It wasn't too long before we got our little Charley to settle down. Heck at one point he even tried to join in on a kiss between the parents to be. It was the cutest thing I ever witnessed and know Charley would be a great big sister and protector.

I also want to add that I loved how they chose to incorporate pumpkins into this session being that we are in the fall with the vibrant earth colors that it brings. This session really showcased their playful personalities and suited them just right.

It was important for the parents Rachel and Cody to include items that had been saved for the future baby. Cody's mom had saved a baby blanket as well as a little doll.

Baby Grogan will be here in April 2019 and I am super excited to have a little place in it's birth journey.- Jessica
