A Simple Beach Wedding at Navarre Beach // Elopement Package // Jessica Salort Photography

The day was perfect in every way. The sky was a vivid blue with billowy white clouds up high. The waves crashed with such force it was a beautiful sight to see. Everything was perfect......until it wasn't.

Not even exaggerating the moment before we stepped out of the car ( I drove the gorgeous bride to the ceremony site) we see dark clouds. We look at each other wondering if and when the rain will come. I try my best to stay optimistic because like many places our weather could be so unpredictable.

We arrive at the ceremony site only to be met by the grayest clouds and craziest winds that had to have been way more then the 13 miles the weather.com app predicted them to be. Between the wind, clouds, fog, and humidity it was not something we could have predicted hours before.

So let me bring this story back to meeting Katherine. So she inquired my services for photography then asked if I could also add her hair and make-up too. I love to do this for my brides since it gives me ultimate control over the entire shoot from start to finish.

I met Katherine in her room at the Springhill Suites on Navarre Beach. The moment I walked in I felt her warmth. To sum it up I felt as if I had known her forever. She talked with such familiarity as someone I could be best of friends with. I was so curious to learn about where she came from, her job and most importantly her love Sean.

We took our time getting her ready picking the best hairstyle for the crazy winds and finding the perfect red lip color with hints of merlot. We giggled we laughed and raved about her amazing flowers. We even got to watch a wedding that was taking place right outside of her balcony.

I had heard so much about Sean I could almost imagine them back home in their happy place. It made me happy to know that out of all the beautiful places in the world they picked out the gorgeous beaches of Navarre for the beginning of their story.

So like I said, in the beginning, it was dark, gray and everything terrible but in that, there was something beautiful. Almost like the time stood still and we were able to enjoy the chaos surrounding us. The weather was doing its own thing but Katherine and Sean would not let it bother them. They owned it and rocked the hell out of their circumstances much like I imagine they will do in their marriage.

You can see and feel this love. You know it's real and true. I wish Katherine and Sean a million years of happiness together! - Jessica
