Light, Adventure, and Connection // Jessica Salort Photography // Navarre Beach, FL

There are several key factors in creating beautiful images. You probably see these three words throughout my website. I want to explain them and why they are crucial to getting stunning images.

Light - Working on the beach or outside is always tricky. We are using a light source that we have no control over. I make the most of every lighting condition I am given. I don't mind a harsh morning or a dreary sky. It's you who creates the magic. Ample lighting can add dimension and contrast. I get so excited when I see that beautiful glowy light.

Adventure - We don't fake the fun we are having around here. We make our photos memorable. It's always my goal to provide you with stunning images you deserve. And I am not afraid to splash around in the water with you. I am giving your prompts to get the most movement in your portraits because movement shows life. Who wants 100 boring photos looking at the camera with big fake smiles? Not you, Trust me!

Connection - Connection is key to all putting them all together. How can you show your unique families closeness without getting real close? When you book Jessica Salort Photography, remember we will be having a giant love festival. Don't be afraid to get super close because those make the best photos. You are hiring me to be a fly on the wall and do what you can't do, so let loose.

These portraits below were taken at an Extended Family Session at Navarre Beach at 8 am. The lighting was pretty harsh, and some of the girls had a hard time opening their eyes initially. I would say after about 10 minutes, all the children had opened up and started to feel so much comfortable. We jumped into a game of tag with all parents and grandparents playing along. Dad was so excited to toss his sweet girls up in the air. And when they tired out a little, I grabbed a few shots of the sisters embracing. Of course, that didn't last long because they were ready to play a few more games. And they finally ended it splashing around in the water. I can't tell how much fun we had but think it's evident in these photos.

This morning session was mostly pleasure and very little business. And by business I mean posed portraits, which is something I do try to get at every session, however, when the kids aren't working with you we switch to plan B. Mom and Dad didn't mind it one bit because as you can see, we got some fantastic shots. These magic moments are what I look for every morning and evening. All three of these key elements contributed to making these portraits a success.
