Quinceañera Portraits // Navarre Beach, FL //Jessica Salort Photography

Meet my beautiful new friend Evelyn! She was getting ready to celebrate her 15th b-day and would have the most fanciest parties that every hispanic girl dreams about, a quinceañera! No party would be complete without the ceremonial portraits of the young lady in her ornate dress. Also accompanying her were her Court of Escorts and her parents.

These stunning photos almost didn’t happen but they did and they were magic! I mean seriously this evening could not have been more crazier then it was and again we still managed with so much luck to get the job done. I am still here in disbelief too.

After rescheduling due to rain the week before we chose another day when the weather would be best suited for photos only to realize soon that despite no rain in our forecast we would have some really cold weather instead. And if you ever been on the beach in 50 degree weather you know if feels like you are standing in a blizzard especially when you are a FL native.

My gorgeous client was traveling from Fort Walton Beach on this day with to only get stuck in the horrible after school and rush hour traffic. I relayed a message to her planner that perhaps another day would be better fitting to take these photos since we were loosing sun quick. And while we might of had time to proceed with photos we still needed to get her hair and make-up done which was also my job that evening.

So while we are looking at the calendar trying to find a date that would be available to acomodate this birthday girl the she pulls up. I am surprised because I thought we had just rescheduled. In that moment I was like "Let's do this!" and with no time to spare rush to get the job done. And just like Cinderella in a poof she was ready for her photos! I had 21 mins to do her hair and make-up. We literally pulled off a world record. This also include her time to get into her giant dress. We then jumped into the car and drove to the special spot on Navarre Beach.

As I am driving over the bridge I can see the sun setting and I am begging "God please don't go down before I can get some gorgeous photos." We arrive at 4:47pm. I tell her "we must go NOW!"

So once on the beach my prayers are answered. Gorgeous beaches with no one in sight. A beautiful sunset setting the scene for these portraits.I tell her “Evelyn it’s picture time now and I know you are cold but be cold later, we have a job to do” to which she happily agreed. We had 12 mins of shooting. It’s amazing how creative you can be in such a short time but hey got the job done. It was one heck of an adventure!- Jessica
