Kirsten and Ross // Orange Beach Weddings // Jessica Salort Photography
Kirsten and Ross met on the streets of Tennessee while they both on vacation. Little did they know that would be the start of a whirlwind romance that would take Kirsten all the way to Scotland to spend time with Ross in his native country.
Though the miles were far and the trips were not long enough, nothing could keep these two apart. The magnetic energy was too strong to keep waiting to tie the knot.
Orange Beach was the destination that Kirsten and Ross picked to get married on April 3rd. The sugar white beaches and the blue sea offered the perfect backdrop for this perfect love story.
In addition to my photography services Kirsten also hired me to do her hair and make-up. She adored her hair with the most delicate flower crown to add a splash of color. Kirsten mentioned how green everything was in Scotland so she thought that the flower crown would be so fitting for the day.
In honor of her husband's country of Scotland they made sure to incorporate so many marriage traditions. These included the groom wearing a traditional kilt, suprising the groom with a bagpiper as Kirsten walked down the aisle and Quaich Ceremony.
The Quaich ceremony was perhaps my favorite. Tradition has it that you can borrow or a recieve a cup on your wedding day and you will share a drink together. This drink is usually whiskey and simpolizes the blending of two families.
After the ceremony everyone was welcomed to take park in the large group photo. I really love when my couples invite everyone in to a large fun shot. It is so important to have great photos of all your guests.
Then it was party time and the couple did not disapoint when they hit the dance floor in the most thought out choreographed dance. The brought the tears, smiles, and cheers to everyone there. It was the start of a great evening and I am glad I was there to document it all.
This wedding was beautiful and everything I could of hoped for the two. I am wishing them a lifetime of love and laughter. - Jessica
