One final walk // Pet Photographer // Jessica Salort Photographer
Some of the hardest sessions are the ones that involve your fur babies.
Those get me every single time.
On the one hand, you see the laughter and joy this sweet member of the family has brought, but then you see the scars of the cancer treatments that didn't work out. Immediately you are reminded why you are here and that you are the one chosen to take the last precious moments of their lives before they cross the rainbow bridge.
This is tough work, and it hurts my heart, but I know it's essential to the families who invite me into their homes.
On this day particular I got to go on one last walk with my dear friend Rae as she took her sweet Kai for one final walk.
We followed along as she said her goodbyes at Kai's favorite place, where they found so much comfort over the years.
Rae was so strong that day. It broke her deeply yet she stayed so strong because Kai needed her those final days. For all those that know Rae, she has one of the biggest and kindest hearts of in the world, especially for animals.
I didn't know Kai well, but I know Rae. I know Rae would have done anything to save her. I also know Rae was better because of Kai.
Thanks to Kai, Rai started Kai's Rough Wear a company that makes customized Pet accessories, and with the funds going to local rescue organizations.

It's been 1 month since Kai crossed the Rainbow bridge and now Rae has found comfort in Fostering animals searching for their forever homes. She will be creating a Youtube chanel soon. I will update the post with the link soon.
